How long does it take to get a picture framed?


Our usual lead time to complete a bespoke framing request is approximately 3-4 weeks, although this does vary by time of year. We will let you know during the initial consultation if we are running a longer lead time. Sometimes, we can accommodate more urgent requests - this is usually when you choose from the materials we already have in stock and/or are happy to pay an additional fee to enable us to order stock using expedited delivery. Some complex framing jobs may take longer than the typical lead time. However, we will of course discuss this with you if it applies.




Is there parking at the workshop?


Yes, we have space for 2 cars directly outside the workshop - this is enormously helpful when bringing in or collecting large or valuable pieces for framing. There is also ample space for cars along the lane.




How can I pay for my framing?


Payment can be made using online banking or Paypal at any time before collection, or by credit/debit card collecting. Please note, we cannot accept American Express.




How do I know how much my framing will cost?


We will quote for the work requested during the initial consultation. If you are in a rush, or if there are multiple pieces of work to be framed, then we will email or call you with the quote within a day or two. We will either email you an invoice once the work is completed or provide you with a printed copy for your records when you collect.




How does the price compare with buying ready made frames?


When choosing a bespoke frame, the cost reflects the choice, workmanship and attention to detail that comes as part of the package. Handmade frames correctly preserve the item, will last a lifetime and allow you to choose exactly the right styles, colours and textures to truly enhance your treasured things. So, yes, the costs are higher than buying a ready made frame, but the benefits are very clear. However, do bear in mind that there are a range of frames in a range of prices on offer at Orchard House Framing. Some items are perfectly suited to a ready made, off the shelf product, and you are, of course, under no obligation to accept our quote.




How is Orchard House Framing operating in the current COVID climate?


PLEASE NOTE - temporary closure for all appointments during the lockdown until 12th April or until permitted. ************************************************************************************************************** - Consultations are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please call, email or send a message via the website to arrange an appointment. Please no drop ins. - Collections are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. - Every precaution is being undertaken to socially distance & as the workshop space is not large we’d like to ask customers to visit on their own if at all possible. - Only staff will handle the frame & mount board chevrons to avoid unnecessary contact. - We’d like to limit each visit to a maximum of 20 minutes & ask that customers stay in the designated area. - Hand sanitiser is available for customers to use at the entry to the workshop. - We ask that customers wear a mask as per government guidelines. - Ahead of the consultation, please provide photographs and details of the piece(s) to be framed, along with dimensions and additional information such as frame/style preference. This will enable us to prepare frames and mounts as a good starting point. - Upon request, an outside consulation can be setup in the space just outside the workshop. These consultations are dependent on the weather and may need to be moved to another date and time if it is looking wet or windy. - Payment is accepted via PayPal Online, bank transfer or card payment at the point of collection. No cash or cheques please.
